Dr. William E. Silver Board Member ABFPRS
Dr. William E. Silver continues to serve as a board member of the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ABFPRS). The purpose of the Board is to improve the quality of medical and surgical treatment available to the public. To carry out this mission, the Board has established a mechanism for the education, qualification, training, review, and certification of surgeons specializing in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery.
To be a Board member, one has to be selected by his peers and has to remain active in teaching and practicing facial plastic surgery. Dr. Silver is triple board certified and has on-going involvement with teaching residents and young Fellows the art of facial plastic surgery.
In July, 2016, Dr. Silver traveled to Washington, DC where he served as an examiner to physicians that had to stand the exam to be qualified to be Board Certified by the Board. This Board is the largest board that certifies facial plastic surgeons.
The specific objectives of the Board are:
- To establish standards of qualification for facial plastic and reconstructive surgeons.
- To determine which candidates fulfill these standards of qualification.
- To conduct examinations of such candidates and issue certificates upon satisfactory completion of requirements.
- To improve and broaden the opportunities for graduate education and training of facial plastic and reconstructive surgeons.
Dr. Silver continues to write and lecture to physicians around the country on rhinoplasty and other facial plastic surgery procedures. Dr. Silver receives physician requests from around the country and even internationally for his expertise in revision rhinoplasty.
Dr. Silver is located at 4553 N. Shallowford Road, Suite 40 B in Atlanta, GA. He has many local patients who come to him for facial plastic surgical procedures as well as non-surgical procedures like Botox, Radiesse, Voluma, and facial skin resurfacing.
