Meet Dr. William E. Silver
William E. Silver, M.D., F.A.C.S.
“My commitment to patients goes beyond my medical education. It extends to everything that makes your experience here comfortable and your results remarkable. Even though I’ve been performing facial plastic surgery for over 30 years, the enjoyment and thrill of accomplishing excellent results is still very exciting to me.”
He is a native of Atlanta and fondly remembers as a young boy shadowing his father and uncle in their professional fields of dentistry and cosmetic surgery. It was then, at the young age of nine, that Dr. Silver knew he too would be a doctor. Dr. Silver received his undergraduate degree from Emory University and in 1963 he received his doctorate of medicine from the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Silver completed his residency at the prestigious Mount Sinai and Belleview Hospitals in New York City in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Otolaryngology. Subsequently, he served as the Director of Head and Neck Surgery for the United States Army.
International, National and Regional Recognition
Since entering practice, he has obtained international recognition as a surgeon and teacher through his affiliation with the largest association of specialty plastic surgeons in the world, the American Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery. He held the office of VP for this association in 1999. He recently served as president of the Medical Association of Atlanta and was the immediate past president of the Medical Association of Georgia. He serves as a clinical professor at both the Medical College of Georgia and Emory University Otolaryngology Departments.
Dr. Silver has been an active participant in FACE to FACE, which is the humanitarian arm of the Educational and Research Foundation for the American Academy for Facial and Reconstructive Surgery. Voluntarily, he has restored the face of many individuals who had been victims of domestic violence. He has traveled extensively across the world providing facial and reconstructive plastic surgery to correct deformities and disfigurement for patients who could not afford to pay for treatment. He has conducted and participated in educational seminars, teaching the art and science of facial plastic surgery to surgeons around the world so that they might be better trained to treat their patients. In so doing he has traveled to many countries in Asia and South America. He was awarded the prestigious Community Service Award from the Medical Association of Georgia for outstanding service to their community and state through numerous works of volunteerism. He has held the position of Fellowship Directorship of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery where he is responsible for teaching young surgeons the art of Facial Plastic surgery.
Triple board certified, Dr. William Silver has gained a reputation as a rhinoplasty specialist having performed over 10,000 procedures. He is the surgeon doctors refer their patients to for rhinoplasty, revision rhinoplasty, and ethnic rhinoplasty. Dr. Silver uses his artistry and skill as a plastic surgeon to shape each patient’s nose to fit his or her face while obtaining natural-looking results.
His Commitment to His Patients
“The enjoyment and thrill of accomplishing excellent results continue to be very exciting to me. I want every patient to experience remarkable results while in my care. I am dedicated to one essential goal, to achieve a result that makes the patient feel pleased about the way they look.”
